These are easier to cheese and finish off quickly by scouting, without being short missions, which are often wastes of time. Pitch black is of course the way to maximize the chance of meeting a Shambler, but I prefer the cautious approach of waiting for a curio and then buffing up before fighting it, as the Champion Shambler is much nastier than its lower level counterparts.Īlso I'd prefer medium length quests with a favorable town event if you can't find one with a decent trinket.
I'd also avoid areas with the Thing because again, it increases the likelihood that your team will already be banged up when you get to it. I'd generally tend to prefer Cove and Weald, because I prefer bleed teams as they're easier to put together, and Warrens with its short hallways are less likely to produce Shamblers. Since its resistance to blight and bleed are the same, it doesn't really matter which focus you use, so long as it's appropriate for the dungeon. Once I find a curio, I usually save it until the end to decide whether to do it, but if you're really serious about it and don't find possibly abandoning the mission, just go for it immediately, or alternately, camp right before it and apply appropriate battle buffs.īasically, you want to bring a Shambler team that can also deal with the dungeon. If you really want to ramp up the chance of encountering them, do it pitch black, although the odds of getting your team too banged up to deal with one increase the more you do this. I don't like long for these, even though the curio is more likely to show up the longer it is. I'd use either a blighting, bleeding, or marking team appropriate to the dungeon you're going into.
